$850,000 ‘Lucky Day Lotto' Ticket Sold at Gas Station in Chicago Suburb

In comparison to the Powerball jackpot of $754.6 million, a prize of $850,000 is certainly not to be sniffed at.

Officials from the Illinois Lottery report that a winning $850,000 Lucky Day Lotto ticket was purchased at a petrol station in Waukegan over the weekend.

You may thank Thornton's, which is situated at 3233 Grand Ave. in Waukegan, for selling the winning ticket.

The winning ticket reportedly matched all five numbers drawn (#s 17, 20, 22, 24, and 35) in the Sunday night Lucky Day Lotto drawing, winning the jackpot of $850,000.

But the the ticket holder isn't the only winner.

The Illinois Lottery mandates that the Thornton's gas station where the winning ticket was purchased get a bonus equal to one percent of the prize amount. It works out to $8,500 in this scenario.

The Powerball jackpot was won on Monday as well, with a single ticket sold in Washington state for $754.6 million.

Powerball's next $20 million drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, and you may play Lucky Day Lotto twice a day, seven days a week.
